Request for Information on Interoperability for Home Energy Management
ElaadNL, in collaboration with the Flexiblepower Alliance Network (FAN), has published a Request for Information (RfI) focused on interoperability for energy management in and around homes, including the use of open source software.
This RFI aims to gather feedback on technical foundations, development and testing approaches, timelines, and contractual considerations. The results will inform a Request for Proposal (RfP), expected by end of June 2025, with the actual development project starting in September 2025.
The initiative, supported by the Dutch Ministry of Climate and Green Growth, builds on recent research into market views on protocols and architecture for smart energy management. It focusses on open standards OpenADR, S2, EEBus, Matter, Modbus, and OCPP, to accelerate interoperable solutions in the private energy domain.
📅 The RfI is open until 26 May 2025.
